David Zavaleta began his career in the financial markets of Chicago, working at the CME and CBOT, trading bonds, options, and commodities. On the trading floor, he built relationships with regional economic leaders. He was brought on to work with the largest private steel brokerage company in Chicago at that time and soon found himself on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Industrial Roundtable. Recognizing logistics as a critical component of all industries, David dedicated significant time and effort to understanding every facet. He has worked as a logistics consultant and continues to do so today.
David was later recruited by a major domestic manufacturer of steel products for the material handling industry, where he was brought in for his business development, steel, and logistics expertise. After a successful tenure as an executive, David was presented with two start-up opportunities: one with a company that owned a patented product for the material handling industry and the other with ShoppingGives.
ShoppingGives remains the gem of his career, having become a successful platform for e-commerce, helping companies manage their charitable social impact. As one of Shopify’s top-rated applications, this software stack enables companies to launch, scale, and optimize their charitable contributions, creating a positive social impact with their customer base. This catalytic moment propelled David into becoming an entrepreneur and start-up enthusiast. Today, he continues to pursue his passion for creating positive impacts through his work.
Ed Earl brings a Stanford MBA and over 30 years of construction experience to his leadership of Contractor Staffing Source. He is passionate about helping residential contractors find talented staff to grow their construction company. With his help, CSS is on track to become the leading recruiting service for the residential construction industry.
Ed also runs a Construction Project Management firm in San Diego where he has provided Owner Representation Services on a wide range of projects, from remodels to a sprawling $25 million estate that took 5 years to complete. His decades of experience working with residential contractors, architects, design professionals, and homeowners brings a unique perspective to his role at CSS.
Ed is also an energetic, talented national speaker with a passion for helping contractors reduce conflict in their business and improve communication with their clients. Ed has been nicknamed the ‘Zen Builder’ as a 20 year practitioner of Zen Buddhism and served as the Project Manager for the construction of a nunnery complex.
Liv Madrigal brings over 15 years of business management expertise and has 5 years of experience in construction recruiting. Born and raised in Hawai’i, Liv graduated from Kamehameha, a prestigious Hawaiian school, then went on to study Biology at the University of Hawai’i. Realizing that Biology was not the field she wanted to be in, she created several successful businesses while raising her 3 sons.
Currently serving as the General Manager, Liv is on a mission to cultivate dynamic and diverse teams. Her true passion lies in making a meaningful impact on individuals’ lives. What resonates with her about Contractor Staffing Source is not just its role in connecting contractors with the perfect employees, but the fulfillment she finds in aiding others in securing rewarding jobs.
Susan is a seasoned recruiter with extensive experience in the fields of Recruiting, Human Resources, and Business Management. Throughout her career she has honed her skills in not only identifying top talent, but also building strong relationships with both candidates and clients. She understands that recruitment is more than just matching resumes to job descriptions; it’s about truly understanding the needs and goals of both parties involved.
Additionally, her background in Human Resources and Business Management have equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of employee relations, performance management, and talent development. She is committed to delivering exceptional results and exceeding expectations.
Nicholas Costa, a seasoned IT expert with over 7 years of experience, has distinguished himself as a pioneer in helping businesses optimize their computer systems and enhance profitability. As the co-founder of Soaring Towers, a leading IT services provider in the finance and construction sectors, he has tailored innovative solutions for clients ranging from large commercial construction companies with over 400 employees to smaller residential firms with just 10 designers. Driven by a passion for staying on the cutting edge, Nicholas has recently steered his company towards integrating artificial intelligence, empowering businesses to accomplish more with less while maintaining a focus on their unique needs and budget constraints.
Fletcher Wimbush, the transformative CEO of Discovered Performance Hiring Solutions, The Hire Talent, and Fletcher Associates Search Firm, has dedicated a decade to tackling hiring’s hardest problems. With innovative strategies, Fletcher has elevated over 1,500 organizations, contributing over $643 million to their bottom lines.
A thought-leader in his field, he’s published extensively on reference checking, aptitude assessments, and AI’s role in candidate selection.
Weston Beck grew up in southern California and graduated from Claremont High School in 2008. After doing a lot of soul searching, in 2011 he decided to pursue an education in Mathematics at Mount San Antonio College, where he developed passion for problem solving and real-world application. He eventually transferred to Cal Poly Pomona and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Mathematics. In 2016, he began working at The Hire Talent as a data analyst and product engineer. As the company grew both in size and in vision, Weston began leading the software development team at The Hire Talent and oversaw the build out of Discovered, the company’s ultimate and ongoing vision for recruiting technology. As Discovered continues to evolve, Weston is responsible for ensuring the product continues to meet recruiter expectations.
Weston lives in San Dimas, CA with his wife and 2 year old son. His favorite thing to do is to spend time with his family and make new memories with them.
Genesis is our skilled Pipeline Scanner, bringing three years of freelancing expertise across technology, education, and construction industries. Originally from Sucre, Bolivia, Genesis holds degrees in Commercial Engineering, English and German. In her role, she meticulously rates resumes according to KPIs and sends the necessary assessments, streamlining our recruitment processes. Her global perspective and commitment to excellence make her an invaluable asset to our team, embodying our dedication to diversity and success.
Verónica Borrero is the Onboarding Manager at Contractor Staffing Source. With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and specialized studies in Organizational Psychology, Verónica brings a unique perspective to her role. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience in various areas of psychology, including clinical, social, scholarly, and organizational psychology.
Verónica’s passion lies in helping individuals improve their relationship with work and finding joy in their day-to-day responsibilities. She has worked as a therapist, serving patients ranging from children to teenagers, and has also made significant contributions as an HR Psychologist, dealing with tasks such as employee performance evaluation and psychological companionship.
At Contractor Staffing Source, Verónica’s main responsibilities include ATS and new account setup, job ad development, and LinkedIn and Career page connection setup. She excels in understanding the unique needs and culture of each client, enabling her to create compelling job ads that attract top talent. Verónica’s attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to listen make her an invaluable asset to the team.
